August 28 1999 Launch Report

Larry's modified Big Bertha (modified based on Estes Astron Ranger plans)

First launch-8/28/99

Here it is on the pad, wired up for the launch with my first cluster attempt using 3 B6-4 engines.....

It took off so fast, all I caught was the shadow of the rocket (behind the smoke)!

I used tracking powder in the parachute, and was able to see the chute open. Successful recovery (it landed ~10 feet from the launch pad, and I caught it before it hit the ground!).

Three engines scorched the fins a bit but otherwise the rocket is ready for more!
